Debuting My New Title: College Grad!

I finally did it! I graduated college!

Graduating college is one of the proudest moments of a person’s life and it is also the most bittersweet. Spending four years at a college away from home without your high school buddies, whether you are dorming or commuting is a huge change. During my last week so many thoughts ran through my mind, “this is the last final exam you will ever take,” “this is the last time you will log onto Canvas,” and “this is the last time you’ll have to rush down the parkway to make sure you get a decent parking spot.”

The most bittersweet moment was decorating my cap with my best friends for the commencement graduation. It made me take a step back and look at the past four years with these girls and now we are doing the very last activity college girls gather around to do. From study groups, to school functions, wine nights and house parties we have come full circle. I met these girls on the first day of college: Freshman Orientation. We were all placed in a group based on our majors and our last names, and a bond was formed over cheesy ice breakers. Spending four years with these girls made college so much easier, and I am thankful to call them my best friends.

There is a feeling of freedom and accomplishment that washes over you with graduating. You don’t necessarily feel it all at once, but slowly the feeling becomes stronger and stronger. You can say, “I did it” and “I am in control of my own life.” So many new opportunities present themselves to you and they are all 100% your decision. Whether they are internships, graduate school, traveling, full times jobs, settling down into a relationship, the options are endless and slightly overwhelming. I am learning that everyone has a different path in life and you can’t compare your situation to someone else’s. Everyone does what is right for themselves which is pretty amazing to see!

I just want to thank all those, my parents especially, who supported me and pushed me everyday to be the best person I can be!

Now I am off to start a new chapter of my life!
